MAIN AREAS OF FOCUS
AN END TO HISTORICALLY BAD AREAS
Why are there parts of town, areas or sections of cities, that suffer high crime and dilapidation and underperforming public schooling institutions decade after decade after decade?
And, what causes these continual, seemingly permanent, destructive afflictions that always affects the poorest of our citizens? And, most importantly, why haven't any previous California Governors cared enough to put the time and energy and resources into fixing these problems?
Are we supposed to just continue to pretend that this is normal, reasonable, and loving?
We must put an end to this societal disparity; it’s cruel and disgusting for any California Governor to continue treating the poor as lower and undeserving of the pursuit of happiness.
I will put more resources (government and private sector), energy, and focus into remedying these unfair imbalances than anybody in the history of California.
We simply cannot go about living our lives while many of our fellow brothers and sisters suffer being trapped in an endless misery.
YOU OWN YOUR DATA/PERSONALITY RIGHTS
In 1990, a great actor, Crispin Glover, successfully sued Universal Studios for the unauthorized use of his likeness. The studio didn’t want to pay him what he was worth to act in the sequel to a successful movie, so he told them to take a hike.
Penny pinching and low on dignity, they decided to hire a low budget replacement and use prosthetics on his face and have him mimic Glover to look and sound like him.
The rights of Glover that the Hollywood studio decided to abuse are called Personality rights. Personality rights, sometimes referred to as the right of publicity, are rights for an individual to control the commercial use of their identity, such as name, image, likeness, or other unequivocal identifiers. Why don’t these rights extend to everybody in all aspects of our lives? We are our likeness, we are our personality, we are our information; Name, Address, Phone Number, Online Presence - the Data we create by our very existence.
Why should these companies be allowed to make billions of dollars off of our existence while we barely scrape by living paycheck to paycheck? Are we not deserving of ownership over ourselves, our complete Personality selves, in all aspects?
The definition of Personality: “Personality is a characteristic way of thinking, feeling, and behaving, which includes moods, attitudes, and opinions. It is most evident in interactions with other people and encompasses both inherent and acquired behavioral traits that differentiate individuals.” This means our unique personalities are our own by way of our existence and therefore nobody else but ourselves has ownership of anything and everything related to us - our Personalities. These multibillion dollar companies have no legal rights to our information, our data, that they collect and sell without our permission.
There needs to be an immediate law passed to protect the people from these vultures but have you noticed no politician, no lawmaker/democrat or republican has ever brought this issue up?
Nobody has ever said any of this or even slightly mentioned anything related to this. Pass laws. It sounds easy enough. Only those who hate the working class and poor would be against protecting us against the digital tech-mafia.
PUBLIC EDUCATION OVERHAUL
There seems to be no end in sight to the ongoing malady that is public education, which has done very little to improve the quality of education (children actually learning) or the quality of lives of the children subjected to the dull, unimaginative, severely outdated public schooling structure.
We owe it to our children and our future to bring our educational system into the 21st century with a focus on imaginative, ideas focused education that will educate and train our children to actually be prepared to confidently take their place in the world of competition instead of stumbling and falling into it, unprepared.
I don’t think college should be a desperate necessity for job placement, career readiness, or intellectual enlightenment. Why shouldn’t we give our children all that they need in the public schooling structure of the first through twelfth grades?
Starting in the 9th grade, students should be given options of specialized training in occupations or fields of interest that are parallel with college level courses. We need to educate high school students in law, finances, nutrition, health/fitness, and communication skills as primary subjects, taking the place of other outdated, less important subjects.
It’s time to do our best to truly educate from a position of strength and love and produce well trained, capable, and successful citizens regardless of economic status. Excellent, compassionate, creative, relentlessly curious teachers are the key. Without them, nothing works. They are the foundation to build upon and should be compensated accordingly and will be.
Like in any occupation there are good teachers and bad teachers. We will not tolerate bad teachers who wield such power over the lives of impressionable children. The salaries will raise significantly and so will the expectation and accountability. When it comes to our children there will be no tolerance for incompetence.
SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING CRISIS
Starting on day one, only California American citizens will be able to purchase single family homes. No more being stupid by allowing citizens of foreign countries and corporations to buy up all the single family homes, simultaneously destroying the dreams of home ownership of the California working class. The California working class built the Golden State but is now under aggressive economic assault from the ruling class corporate politicians who have purposely, systematically, sold the California dream to the highest bidder. Literally. It's totally gross.
Why do people from foreign countries get to take away single family homes from working class Californians, many of them here for generations waiting to realize their dream of home ownership?
Why do corporations get to gobble up single family homes with the sole intent of creating a permanent rental class?
These people have no roots here in California. Why are the political leaders in California so intent on pushing out working class multi-generational California citizens?
You hear them offer the solution of building more homes but without legal restrictions on who can purchase these homes nothing changes. The 'housing crisis' (which is purposeful) will continue.
You hear another side offering the idea to build more affordable housing. This means being a permanent renter for life. Some proudly present more ADU's (tiny homes) as the solution. These people have no imagination and just repeat the same talking points because they do not care. They do not have to ever live in someone's backyard paying too much in rent while trying to salvage their dignity. These are ideas from out of touch wealthy elites.
All of the solutions you're hearing will not work unless there is a housing moratorium on non-citizens and corporate home purchases.
If you were throwing fish into the ocean to feed some dolphins and there were sharks nearby, the dolphins would never eat. You would only be feeding the sharks.
NO INCOME TAX
In California, they’ll tax you when you’re walking on the street, they’ll tax you when you’re trying to keep your seat, they’ll tax you when you’re walking on the floor, and they’ll tax you when you’re walking out the door.
But, where does all of the tax money go?
This has been a major problem in California for many years and it doesn’t look like it will get better if we continue to follow the same voting trajectory.
Why should your income generated by your hard work be taxed? Was the government there with you sweating over your plumbing job or helping you repair that transmission or landscaping in 100 degree heat? I doubt they were there with you helping you cleaning those horribly messy hotel rooms or trying to quiet down an overcrowded class of middle schoolers. Why should anybody be allowed to take the money you have earned with your blood, sweat, and tears? It's appalling.
I would abolish state income tax and allow people to finally have a natural right to all of the money they earn through hard work.
At the same time, I think it is long past due that the state of California’s tax spending be audited by an independent, completely neutral party. All of the wasteful spending simply cannot continue while the working class suffer such horrible economic cruelty.
We have all heard California Governors brag about California being the world's fourth largest economy and how the robust economic health of the state is proof that their policies are working. But, if the state is so economically successful, why are the working class suffering such economic cruelty? Why do the California elected leaders refused to use the world's fourth largest economy to help its own citizens become successful and prosperous. It's maddening.
NO MORE CREDIT CARD INTEREST RATE PRICE GOUGING
Why does any caring elected leader allow credit card companies to price gouge their citizens into oblivion with inhumane interest rates?
The answer is either they don't care about the citizens they're supposed to serve or they are getting some type of monetary incentive to let it happen.
No mas! These interest rate vultures picking at the carcass of the California citizens will cease to exist. I will not stand idly by while the California citizen is used and abused and thrown off onto the heap. There will be a limit to interest rates in California. One that coincides with common decency and pro humanism.
